Trump’s friend and former advisor charged and arrested

Roger Stone, a long-time friend and informal advisor to Donald Trump, was arrested on Friday and charged with investigating a possible collusion between Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign team and Russia, the bureau said. Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller.

Stone has been charged with seven counts, including false statements, witness tampering and obstruction of official proceedings, the Russian Prosecutor’s investigation teams said.

Mr. Stone, 66, was arrested early Friday morning in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, “following a grand jury charge on January 24, 2019”.

Robert Mueller’s spokesman also said Roger Stone would be introduced to a Florida judge at 11 am Friday.

Roger Stone was a member of Donald Trump’s campaign team “until or around August 2015 and has maintained regular contact and publicly supported the Trump campaign until the 2016 election,” according to a court document .

Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller has been trying to determine for more than a year and a half whether there was collusion or coordination between Donald Trump’s campaign team and Moscow in 2016.

So far, the sprawling investigations overseen by Mueller have resulted in several indictments, including several close to Mr. Trump.
