The Pan IIT Global Summit expects to attract more than 50,000 attendees scheduled for December 4-5, 2020. Organizers plan this virtual summit to be one of the largest of its kind in the world. Besides FedEx CEO Raj Subramaniam, keynote addresses will be presented by other distinguished alumni of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and other global leaders, addressing this new innovation-intensive development era.
For almost 20 years, Pan IIT has drawn attendees from more than 20 countries. The event features ground-breaking discussions on the global economy, innovation, education, health, and habitat. Well-known venture capitalists will review hundreds of start-up presentations by technology entrepreneurs.
In 2003, addressing the first Pan IIT alumni conference in Silicon Valley, Bill Gates, a co-founder of Microsoft, recognized IIT Alumni as leaders in innovation and technology, globally. Also, CBS, in its ‘60 Minutes’ program by correspondent Leslie Stahl, made ‘IIT’ a household word in the US through its recognition of the contributions of IIT Alumni. In April 2005, the US Congress flew a specially designated US Flag over the Capitol, in appreciation and commemoration of the Global IIT Conference held in Bethesda, Maryland.
Pan IIT is an umbrella organization representing 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Founded almost 20 years ago, Pan IIT is dedicated to its 50,000 alumni in the US and over 500,000 alumni and associates worldwide.
