Starting today, the Ontario government will send a group of companies as part of a tech mission to participate in the highly anticipated annual CES 2021 Virtual Trade Show. As part of the government’s Canadian delegation, Toronto-based tech company, MEGA InTech will be part of the mission.MEGA InTech aims to bring in a Disruptive & Scalable Technology Solution to the online footwear shopping industry with their new product offering – 3Dfits, a Virtual Fitting Solution.Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, e-commerce has grown exponentially, with shoppers increasingly opting to buy online over in-person stores. However, the footwear category has faced new challenges in this development, as consumers often don’t get sizes right from pictures alone. Shoppers often need to buy multiple sizes of the same shoe and return what doesn’t fit, which ultimately impacts business costs – returns and associated cost. The 3Dfits app works with smartphone cameras to create a 3D model based on 39 key measurements of each user’s feet, so consumers can in turn virtually select the perfect fit, the first time.Founded by Dr. Kevan and Barbara Orvitz, the MEGA Group of Companies includes MEGAComfort Inc., a leader in anti-fatigue solutions for occupation health and safety market across North America, as well as MEGA InTech, which focusses on innovative technological solutions to maximize comfort, fit and wellness. With years of experience studying feet and changing the market landscape, Dr. Orvitz is confident that 3Dfits will change the footwear and ecommerce industries in 2021 and beyond.“Today nearly half of US shoppers are buying multiple sizes of a product online, with the intention of returning some of them,” Dr. Orvitz says. “Footwear accounts for a very high percentage of those returns”. He adds, “That’s an incredible amount of time and money wasted for both consumers and businesses. We’ve spent years developing this exciting new software, and we strongly believe it solves a very real problem for modern shoppers. With the pandemic, consumer buying patterns are trending increasingly towards more online shopping, and we believe 3Dfits is launching at just the right time for the world. Our app will make shoppers’ lives easier, and also positively effect retailers’ bottom line. It’s a win-win for the industry.”Dr. Orvitz also says that the company is honored to represent Canada in launching 3Dfits at CES 2021. Organized by the US-based Consumer Technology Association, the massive 4-day event is held annually in January at the Las Vegas Convention Center, hosting presentations for new technology and products in consumer electronics. However due to the pandemic, this year’s CES 2021 will be entirely virtual, and presents a unique opportunity for MEGA InTech to showcase their virtual product offering for real time use, to a convention of 150,000 global investors, buyers, media and industry professionals alike. The MEGA Group of Companies has previously attended CES under their MEGAComfort brand, so there is much excitement about returning with the Ontario delegation, this time with MEGA InTech’s 3Dfits launch.MEGAComfort Inc. has received positive buzz throughout the pandemic for their highly successful COVID-19 relief program, MEGACares. In the Spring of 2020, the company began inviting frontline hospital and healthcare workers to nominate their teams to receive MEGAComfort shoe insoles, which are classified as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). MEGAComfort successfully pledged and donated 20,000 insoles to aid foot relief for essential workers across the US and Canada.Version 2.0 of the 3Dfits app will be available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
