Mitchel Hodge is the lead editor for Desert Sentinel. Mitchel has written for several publications including the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Huffington Post. Mitchel is based in Reno and covers issues affecting his city and the state of Nevada. When he’s not busy writing, Mitchel enjoys woodworking.
June Akroid was born and raised in Reno. As a journalist, June has contributed to the Eastern New Mexico University school newspaper, NPR, and many other publications. In regards to academics, June earned a degree in business from A&N and earned her master’s degree at University of Florida. June covers local news and culture stories here at Desert Sentinel.
Kim Manderson is a seasoned journalist with nearly a decade under her belt. While studying journalism at Nevada State College, Kim found a passion for finding local stories. As a contributor to Desert Sentinel, Kim mostly covers human interest stories.
Jason Marlaux is a reporter for Desert Sentinel. After graduating from Central University of Nevada, Reno, Jason got an internship at NPR and worked as a reporter and sound engineer. Jason has also worked as a reporter for VICE. Jason covers entertainment and community events for Desert Sentinel.
Tina Blair graduated from the University of Nevada, in 2005. Tina grew up in Ohio but moved to Nevada after school. Tina has written for several major publications including Buzz Feed and the Huffington Post. Tina is our community reporter and also covers world events.
